April 27, 2020 by Talia Jeanlouis What does this mandate do? This mandate does not add restrictions or requirements on citizens or businesses or affect congregate settings, generally. It does not require new quarantines. This mandate is designed to enable the State of Alaska to provide housing to people displaced by COVID-related issues with the support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Because of the contagious nature of COVID, it’s important that non-congregate settings be available.
